Ride the MIA Mover to the Rental Car Center; the Payless counter is straight ahead on Level 4 after exiting the train.

The MIA Payless branch lists 24-hour opening every day.

delayed flight

General policy holds the confirmed car during normal business hours on the scheduled arrival date; contact MIA if a delay crosses midnight. MIA lists 24-hour opening, but the general hold policy does not promise an automatic extension into the next calendar day.

driver requirements

MIA allows limited rentals at ages 21–24; general guidance lists selected classes with a USD25 daily young-renter surcharge. General guidance says the young-renter fee is not included in the reservation total and local policy may vary. Bring a valid original licence and confirm eligibility and final fee.

payment deposit

General guidance requires a card in the renter's name; credit holds can be estimated charges plus USD250, debit holds plus USD300. Confirm MIA's exact hold, card acceptance and travel/ID proof before booking. Debit cards must be US issued; credit checks or extra ID may apply, and funds can take up to 14 days to become available.

international documents

fuel policy

General guidance offers full-to-full or paid refuelling; prepaid fuel receives no refund for fuel left in the tank. Record the fuel level and agreed option. Short-distance EZFuel is not available everywhere; confirm its MIA applicability and receipt rules.

protection

Sources differ: CDW is optional, but confirm MIA's written liability and physical-damage coverage proof requirements. General pages differ on which locations require proof; waivers retain exclusions.

cancellation policy

Some vehicles need 24-hour cancellation notice to avoid no-show charges; general cancellation notice is one hour unless the confirmation says otherwise. Use the booked rate's cancellation and prepayment terms and cancel through the original channel; do not assume one-hour notice avoids every charge.
